Purple Pedi!

Hello lovely people!

I hope everyone's summer has been filled with patio drinks, beach lounging, BBQ friend gathering, ice-cream and lots of fun music. As apposed to mine which so far has been filled with working, some gardening, working, Canada Day BBQ, and some more working. But, that is okay! I have booked some days off and in the near future I will be: beach lounging, patio drinking and kayaking. So, don't feel bad for me.

Last Monday I went to Shopper Drug Mart to pick up a few toiletries and while walking down an aisle in the cosmetic department I noticed a clearance shelf.

I personally LOVE a sale!

While scrounging though the items I a spotted a few pretty nail polish colors.
Even though O.P.I is my go-to nail polish, I couldn't resist the brilliant price of $2.00 a bottle of Sally Hansen. I proceeded to purchase two bottles and was on my merry way.
Anyway..... today, I kicked into summer by applying my own pedicure!
To me, nothing says summer fashion like a nice pedicure, and since I usually wear only a variety of sandals in the warm weather I definitely needed to spruce up my tootsies.

Dark Purple colour is called "Fearless Fog" Sally Hansen nailgrowth Miracle and the lighter purple is "Lacey Lilac" Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear.

I really liked the application of both the colors, they went on opaque and dried true to their wet color.
When applied to my toes, the polish dried very quickly. I am happy with the outcome of the products and glade that I purchased them. I will let you know how long the polish lasts on my toes.

p.s- I got my old camera working but I still need to buy a new one. Also, the sandals I am wearing are old ones, they are comfortable but falling apart. I got them from Payless I think.

Do you usually do your own pedicure or do you pay for someone to do it for you?
What are your favorite colours?

AND!: Please take a look at my friend Mel's blog!
She will be turning 30 soon and a goal of hers is to get 200 blog followers. You can help her with this goal!
She is a 100% better blogger then I am, and a super talented photographer. She also enjoys baking and crafts. I enjoy reading her blog, so can you!

Outfit of the Day: OOTD!

Hey everyone, sorry it's been a while since I posted.
I got a little creative today and made my very first OOTD collage. I looked for photos on the internet similar to clothes that I'm wearing today. If you are wondering, "Why don't you just take a picture Katelin?"
Well, I can answer that: My camera is broken. Plus, that would be too easy!
Since I really like my ensemble, I thought I would share. I'm kinda proud of it. The striped shirt was my inspiration. I reminded me of a  shirt a  person from the 1960's would wear while selling ice-cream in one of those cute trucks.
Also, this outfit clearly shows that I like to save money considering I bought most of the pieces at department stores, the mall, online and a second-hand store.

I hope you like it, and feel free to give me feedback and tips for my next collage.
Maybe, I will make the text larger next time.

Logan! Love of my life. :D

Best buddies!

Strike a pose!
Lick my face!
Guarding the house, watching outside.
Taking a break. It's hard being a puppy dog!

How can I not feel like the luckiest girl/ dog owner with him as my companion?
I'm so grateful to have him, he is one of the best things that's ever happen to me/for me.
He continues to make me happy every time he is around by just being himself.
I love him so much.

RIP Freddie Mercury.

It would have been Freddie Mercury's 65th birthday yesterday.
The lead singer of Queen was an icon then and still is to many artists today.
His music, style, charisma will live on and be remembered.

Google honored him in this way:

Also, youtube has a full length concert of Queens from the 60's streaming:

My favorite songs from Queen would have to be:

OF COURSE Bohemian Rhapsody!!! As well as Killer Queen, and Somebody to Love.

Summer Time. Summer Life. Summer Music.

Hey.
It's been a while since I've been here.
I guess, I haven't been inspired enough to want to write and share recently...until now.
This post will probably not have much on fashion related things.
Just me sharing some of my fav things, and how I'm doing.

So, Jack Layton eh? Geeze. I didn't know his sickness was terminal so the news about his death was quite a shock to me. How unfortunate. Canada loved him.
He seemed like a great man with many optimistic ideas. He created a glimmer of hope and inspiration in many Canadians even with the Conservative majority in front, and he set the NDP bar pretty damn high.
I will be wearing orange today (I should have yesterday). Rest In Peace Jack. You'll always have my vote.

My summer has been busy.
I'm working like crazy! There are two full time people on sick leave and a part-time person went away to school. So, needless to say it's hectic! I usually work 13-15 days in a row before I get two days off. When I finally get some time off I go camping.
I went camping at Sleeping Giant Provincial Park few weeks ago and it was wonderful.
The weather was perfect, there were no swarms of mosquitos, the lake was amazingly warm to swim in and the water was calm when I went kayaking. (Man, Kayaking is so peaceful).
Also, there was bonfires with friends and an abundance of food and alcohol. It was fun.

Oh, and I've also been running lately! How crazy is that?
Yep, about every second day for 30 minutes. I'm on this running program http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml that is suppose to gradually
"take you from the couch to 5k" within a matter of 2 months. I've been running for a month now and found out it's more difficult than I thought it was going to be but I haven't puked or fainted yet, which means I'm doing okay I think.
My lungs HATE me during the running, but LOVE me after the running. It's a neat experience.

Here are some videos:

I absolutely love Paramore's Album Brand New Eyes. It's one of those c.ds were I can listen to all the way through plus over and over again.
There are not a lot of awesome rocker chicks out there now-a-days. Most female artists in the music industry are pop singers, and there are definitely more abundance of guy rockers.
Haley Williams voice is strong.
My favorite songs off the album are:
Ignorance, The Only Exception and Misguided Ghosts. But like I said, I enjoy all of them.

I've been feeling this song lately.
Guns n Roses: Patience.
I have a thing for 80's music. Maybe my mom blasted it when I was a toddler running around the house. Not sure. But this song is pretty epic. Axl is sexy, and Slash is just way cooler then anyone else around.

That's all for now.
I'll probably post some more videos soon. And even another fashion post eventually. (I have an idea swirling around in my head).
Music makes me happy.

Thrift Store Shopping Fun.

Blue fitted shirt and purple, silver, yellow, brown striped purse that was originally from Old Navy.
My favourite find! A orange- creamsicle- colour, crocheted shoulders, shirt. I love to pair it with blue pants.
Vintage-looking crocheted sweater.

Yellow and purple jacket.

Howdy everyone.
Let me start out by saying that my blog concept has changed a bit.
There are no 4 Fs anymore. Basically just food and fashion now.
I'm making it more simple.
I went thrift shopping a little while ago with the intent to buy one or two items with the 10% off coupon that I had, but ended up with a small shopping cart full of fabulous finds. I went a little over-board but the great thing is that three jackets, two shirts, 1 sweater, a belt, a pair of shoes and a purse all cost around thirty dollars. Thats as much as it would cost to buy one pair of pants at the mall.
I love second hand shopping! :D
